If you know Jess, you know she brings a whole lot of talent and just the right amount of chaos
(the good kind) to The Hair House floor. Her journey over the last year has been a beautiful blend of growth, grit, and genuine client love — and it’s safe to say she’s absolutely thriving.

One of Jess’s proudest moments wasn’t just the excitement of our salon’s launch party — although that night was unforgettable — but the moment she realised her books were filling up fast during Christmas 2024 and again in May 2025. Hearing new clients say, “I was recommended to you,” was a turning point. It wasn’t just busy — it was confirmation: I’m good at this.

She’s grown her income, refined her technique, and discovered her own cutting style — something she once thought she couldn’t do. From polished hair-ups to beautiful extensions, Jess is building a signature that’s all her own. “I never thought I could be this busy,” she says, and it’s clear that her hard work and personal touch are paying off.

Jess’s favourite transformation was a bold black bob that totally changed a client’s confidence. “She walked out like a different person,” Jess says, “and you could tell she felt amazing.” It’s these moments — when hair becomes empowerment — that remind us why we do what we do.

When it comes to laughs, Jess says everyone in the salon keeps the vibe alive, but if she had to pick? “Ellie has had me on the floor laughing!” she admits. Whether it’s a random Saturday after work or a full day of back-to-back clients, Jess finds joy in the madness — and she’s already predicting Salon International 2025 will be one for the books.

The past year has also brought deeper lessons. Learning to manage her accounts and becoming financially stable has been a huge milestone. “I’ve become more careful with money,” she says, “and that came from trial, error, and guidance.” And even moments that felt like lows — like opening up about personal struggles — turned into powerful self-reflections. “No one judged me. It gave me a better perspective than I ever expected.”

From short cuts on women to intricate hair-ups, Jess has levelled up her skillset and confidence in a big way. She now walks the floor with more purpose, more clarity — and a goal in mind: Work hard. And keep that good salon energy.

When asked to sum up The Hair House in three words, she didn’t hesitate:
Respected. Family. Bubbly. Three words that just so happen to describe Jess perfectly, too.
As we head into year two, Jess is laser-focused on pushing even harder, thriving in a more positive salon atmosphere, and turning more clients into walking confidence boosts. And honestly? We can’t wait to see what she does next.
